Growing up, we used to hear about The Rise Of The Machines. I mean we watched The Terminator and the story there was that a computer system called Skynet became self aware and turned rogue, rebelled and then there was a great war that culminated into Judgment day.
Then we watched The Matrix where the machines felt threatened by the humans and a war broke out. The machines used to get their energy from the sun and so the humans decided to block the sun by creating a thick layer of smoke. The machines needed to survive and through their research, discovered that the alternative source of energy would be the humans themselves. You see, the human brain is a powerful thing and has electrical energy when its thinking. Thats how the machines imprisoned the humans and put them in pods and created a virtual world where humans lived normal lives, constantly using their brains thus powering the machines.

These two movies alone made me fear Artificial Intelligence. What a lot of people dont know is that Artificial Intelligence, AI was invented in the early 1950’s. Like everything else that was only available to few and very complex, it has now evolved into something everyone has and will be something everyone needs.
What is this Artificial intelligence? After using AI directly, I would like to describe AI as an alternative or extra brain. I would like to say it is a human like part of your computer. Where the human has a body, mind and soul... the computer has its hardware, processor and the AI component is its soul. Simply put, AI has made it easier to communicate with our machines, especially if you have elevated to Agentic use of AI.
AI is powerful thats for sure. But just like everything else on earth if used wrongly it can cause serious damage but when used with the intention to enhance life you will achieve a lot. What are the use cases of AI? Most people use it to create pictures and videos while others use it to compose songs or change their voices. We then have people who use it maliciously or use it to cyber bully someone. There are others who are now using it to run entire virtual companies!
We have now transcended into the age of Agentic AI. This is the use of AI in a different way from how we have known it. There is serious hype over this at the moment. AI is evolving and its happening fast. In this situation, you give your AI Agent, not just a chat bot who hypes you up or types your essays, but a virtual employee you give instructions to and they execute them, as long as they are digital computational tasks. I know and hear that others have put them in robots and these are not functioning more effectively. I dont want to get to technical here but yes, agentic AI is something i have been working with for over a month and the wonders it has done for me are too numerous to mention. Its not easy or cheap to run however but if you do have a good plan for it then you can make your money back.
People keep saying AI will take our jobs, that is half true but the real truth is people who know how to use AI are the ones that will be relevant. So, figure out how you fit in this AI world.
